NANS AUTO ACCIDENT: FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FOOTS BURIAL BILLS

The Federal Government,FG, has promised to foot all burial expenses of the five Executive members of National Association of Nigerian Students,NANS, who died in an auto crash last week.

 The NANS executive met their untimely death around Ikwuano local government area,of Akwa Ibom state on their way to intervene in University of Uyo,UNIUYO students' struggles against the school authority over hike in transportation fare.

 The promise was made by the Minister of Education,Prof. Ruqayatu Ahmed Rufai in Umuahia who said yesterday when she visited the injured students on admission at the Federal Medical Centre,FMC,Umuahia that the FG will pay the deceased families any amount expended on the burial and would take care of medical expenses of the surviving students of the fatal accident.

The Minister said this in the presence of the Executive Secretary of National University Commission,NUC, Prof. Julius Okojie and chairman of the hospital medical advisory, Dr. Uche Nwamuo who futhered informed the minister and her team of a student is in dire need of a life-support ventilator equipment worth eight million naira,(N 8m).
